The tallest building in the world

The Burj Khalifa, located in Downtown Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is currently the tallest building in the world, standing at a staggering height of 828 meters (2,717 feet). It consists of 163 habitable floors along with 46 additional maintenance levels, making it a true architectural marvel. Construction of the tower began in January 2004, and it was officially opened to the public on January 4, 2010. The building was designed by renowned architect Adrian Smith, during his time at the firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM). It was developed by Emaar Properties, one of the largest real estate developers in the Middle East, and the main contractor for construction was Samsung C&T of South Korea. The name "Burj Khalifa" was chosen in honor of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the former President of the UAE, recognizing his support for the project. Today, Burj Khalifa stands not only as a symbol of Dubai’s rapid growth but also as a global icon of engineering, ambition, and design excellence.
